I have a plumbing emergency, what should I do?

What do you do when a plumbing emergency arises? The very first thing is to ensure it's safe, and hopefully not getting even worse. Electricity and water do not combine safely, so if you need to, turn the mains switch off at the power panel.

If there is water still leaking, turn off the water to the appliance or fixture if you can, or go straight to the main valve for your home. If you are unable to find the tap to turn off, then you may want to try turning on all the cold taps inside and outside the home to depressurise the system and reduce the leak.

Once that is sorted, give our team a ring, whatever the day or time is. We will be there shortly to fix the leak.

While waiting for our emergency plumber, remove any significant items, clean up any water, and put a container to catch any drips. You should also switch off the hot water heating if the main water is turned off.

Help, I don�t know where the main water shutoff valve is!
